What is Building Biology and How Can it Help Me?
Building Biology is the study of how the built environment—homes, offices, schools—affects human health and well-being. It’s based on principles developed in Germany in the mid-20th century and combines science, architecture, and environmental health.
It looks at how air quality, water quality, building materials, lighting, ventilation, and even invisible factors like EMFs (electromagnetic fields) influence your health and daily life.
Think of it as the missing link between construction and wellness. Instead of only focusing on aesthetics or resale value, Building Biology asks: “Will this home help its occupants thrive physically, emotionally, and environmentally?”
